Air Canada continues route expansion with more flights from western Canada to the United States

Air Canada announced today it is
increasing its U.S. transborder flights from western Canada with the
introduction of new non-stop flights to Las Vegas and to Palm Springs this
fall.
Air Canada and Jazz will launch twice weekly, non-stop service to Las
Vegas from both Edmonton and Winnipeg on September 7. The only daily non-stop
flights from Calgary-Palm Springs will then launch on December 15. All flights
offer a choice of Executive Class or Economy Class service. Tickets are now
available for purchase at aircanada.com or through travel agents. Destinations
are eligible for travel through Air Canada's multi-trip Flight Passes.
"We are pleased to offer customers in Western Canada the convenience of
more non-stop flights to two of the most popular destinations in the United
States," said Ben Smith, Air Canada's vice president responsible for network
planning at Air Canada and Jazz. "With the arrival of new aircraft in our
North American fleets, we are able to strategically launch new routes
responding to strong demand in Western Canada."
Edmonton-Las Vegas: Non-stop flights on Thursdays and Sundays depart
Edmonton at 19:25, arriving in Las Vegas at 21:20; depart Las Vegas at 22:15,
arriving in Edmonton at 02:25. All flights are onboard the 120-seat Airbus 319
aircraft. The schedule is timed for connections in Edmonton to and from Fort
McMurray, Grande Prairie and Yellowknife.
Winnipeg-Las Vegas: Non-stop flights on Thursdays and Sundays depart
Winnipeg at 21:40, arriving in Las Vegas at 23:00; depart Las Vegas at 23:55,
arriving in Winnipeg at 04:50. All flights are onboard the Jazz operated, made-
in-Canada 75-seat Bombardier CRJ-705 jet. The schedule is timed for
connections in Winnipeg to and from Regina and Saskatoon.
Calgary-Palm Springs: Daily, non-stop flights depart Calgary at 09:00,
arriving in Palm Springs at 10:55; depart Palm Springs at 11:30, arriving in
Calgary at 15:38. All flights are onboard the Jazz operated, made-in-Canada
75-seat Bombardier CRJ-705 jet. The schedule is timed for convenient
connections in Calgary to and from Edmonton, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Regina,
Saskatoon and Winnipeg.
By summer 2006, Air Canada and Jazz will have introduced 11 new non-stop
routes from western Canada:

April 8 Fort McMurray-St. John's via Toronto
May 1 Edmonton-Los Angeles
June 16 Abbotsford-Toronto
July 3 Calgary-Yellowknife
