Air Canada adds additional capacity to Atlantic Canada

Air Canada today announced wide ranging improvements in scheduled services to many of its Atlantic Canada destinations in time for planning vacations this coming summer. The additional flights, operated by Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz, will offer customers more choice and convenience with over 1,300 weekly flights - 100 more per week than last summer- serving Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

"With the arrival of new, modern and fuel-efficient aircraft in our North American fleet, Air Canada is now able to implement significant network improvements that will benefit consumers with more point-to-point, non-stop flights and enhanced schedules," said Ben Smith, Vice President, Network Planning.

With the addition of new state-of-the-art Embraer 73-seat E175, 93-seat E190 and Bombardier 75-seat CRJ-705 jets to the Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz fleet, customers traveling to and from Atlantic Canada will have the opportunity to enjoy superior comfort, choice of two classes of service and a new personal entertainment system featuring 8.9-inch wide digital in-seat monitors with touch-screen controls offering audio and video on demand programming at every seat.

Flights have been added to accommodate demand early in the day as well as the opportunity for same-day return itineraries, and also convenient connection to Air Canada's extensive domestic, North American and International network.

The following are highlights of Air Canada services to Atlantic Canada this summer:

Air Canada will introduce summer daily direct same plane E190 service to Fort McMurray via its Toronto hub. Overall, Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz will offer customers an unprecedented choice of up to five daily non-stop flights to/from Toronto, two non-stop daily E190 flights to Montréal, and four to Halifax.

Air Canada Jazz will operate its daily non-stop flight to Montréal with Bombardier's brand new state-of-the-art CRJ-705 aircraft configured in two classes of service with 10 seats in Executive Class. Capacity to Halifax is increasing as this year one of the three daily non-stop flights this year will be operated using 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet aircraft. The other two will continue to be operated using 37-seat Dash 8-100 aircraft.

Air Canada Jazz will increase its service to/from Halifax from two to three daily non-stop flights operated using 37-seat Dash 8-100 aircraft. It will resume its seasonal non-stop service to/from Toronto with two daily 50- seat Canadair Regional Jet aircraft. Montréal bound customers will have the choice of a combination of 50-seat Dash 8-300 and 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet aircraft.

Air Canada Jazz will increase its service to/from Toronto from four to six daily non-stop flights operated using 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet aircraft. It will continue to operate four daily flights non-stop to/from Montréal using 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet aircraft as well as two daily 18- seat Beech 1900 aircraft to Halifax.

Air Canada Jazz will increase its service to/from Toronto from three to four daily non-stop flights operated using 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet aircraft. It will continue to operate three daily flights non-stop to/from Montréal using 50-seat Dash 8-300 aircraft as well as three daily 18-seat Beech 1900 aircraft to Halifax.

Air Canada Jazz will increase its service to/from Toronto from three to four daily non-stop flights operated using 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet aircraft. It will continue to operate three daily flights non-stop to/from Montréal using 37- and 50-seat Dash 8-100/300 aircrafts as well as four daily 18-seat Beech 1900 aircraft to Halifax.

Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz will offer customers an unprecedented choice of flights to/from Toronto with up to eleven daily non-stop daily flights, Montréal with up to six non-stop daily flights, Ottawa with up to five non-stop daily flights and Boston with up to three non-stop daily flights.

Air Canada Jazz will double its service to/from Montréal with the return of seasonal daily service as well as an additional non-stop daily flight operated using 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet aircraft, and add one daily non- stop 18-seat Beech 1900 aircraft to Halifax bringing the total amount of flights between the two cities to seven flights a day.
