Air Canada offers special fares to stranded Zoom passengers
August 28, 2008
Air Canada announced on Thursday that it will be offering reduced one-way fares to passengers stranded by the surprise stoppage of service by Zoom Airlines. The fares will be available for passengers travelling in either direction between Canada and France, the U.K. and Italy. They should be appearing on Air Canada's Web site Thursday afternoon. Peter Fitzpatrick, a spokesman with Air Canada warns passengers that some of the discounted fares may be hard to come by due to the end-of-summer travel rush. 'Most of our flights are very full over the coming days as vacationers return home (in both directions, between Canada and Europe). However, we will do our best to accommodate Zoom customers on a first-come-first-served basis,' he says.
