Antalya Havalimani Airport is about 9 miles (14 km) away from Antalya. It consists of two international terminals and one domestic terminal. The domestic and international terminals are within walking distance of each other. It is a very busy airport, handling about 20-25 million passengers per year. As one of the three international airports in Southwestern Turkey, it is a gateway for the tourist seaside resorts on Turkey's Mediterranean coast.
Airport History
Construction on Terminal 1 started in 1996 and it was ready for use on 1st April, 1998. Terminal 1 is operated by Fraport AG. Terminal 2 was constructed in 2010 and is operated by the company Calebi. In 2011, Antalya Havalimani Airport was selected as the "Best Airport in Europe" in the 10-25 million passenger category by Airports Council International.
Services and Amenities
There are many duty free shopping areas inside the airport which sell perfume, cosmetics, chocolate, liquor and other items. These include the flagship Duty Free store (in Terminal 2), Duty Free Express (near departure gates all over the airport) and Arrival Shops (Terminal 2). There are local and international bars, cafes, restaurants, fast-food outlets located in the international and domestic terminals. Wireless Internet Access is available all over the airport. It is provided by TTNET. Free wifi is found in the CIP and VIP Terminal. Some restaurants also provide free wireless internet such as Via Cafe in the Domestic Terminal and Simit Sarayi in Terminal 2.
Parking & Transportation
There are three car parks located outside the terminals with the capacity to accommodate 1200 cars. Parking is charged at an hourly rate, with the first 15 minutes of parking at the Domestic Airport free. There are various car rental agencies operating inside the airport where visitors can rent or leave rental cars. Some of the international companies include Avis, Budget and Europcar. Local car hire companies also have offices inside the airport.

IC Hotel Airport is located 0.5 miles (800 metres) away from the hotel terminal building. It offers numerous facilities such as spa, conference room and restaurant. Other nearby hotels include the Sheraton Voyager Antalya Hotel and the Divan Talya Hotel which are about 12 km away from the airport.
Travel Tips
The airport can be reached by private car, shuttle, bus and taxi. There is no train station at the airport. Travel time will take about 20 minutes from the city centre. From the centre, take the Aspendos Boulevard and join into the D900/E90 eastbound. Signs will start appearing for Antalya Havalimani Airport and following them will easily lead to the airport. During the summer time, buses operate every 20 min between Antalya Havalimani Airport and the city centre. Taxis can be found all over the city and can pick and drop visitors at the main terminal building. Tour operators and hotels provide shuttle services to and from the airport. Private transfer shuttles are also available.
