History

Belfast City Airport has a long-standing history, beginning in 1938 when it was first opened as a commercial airport. In 1983 the airport began serving commercial traffic as the Harbour Airport. Several milestones followed throughout the years, including a new terminal in 2001. Four years later, in 2005, the airport catered to more than 2 million passengers. The year 2008 marked the 25th anniversary of Belfast City Airport.
