Brisbane International is the only airport serving the Brisbane, Australia area and is one of the key ports into the Australian international market. Located just nine miles from Brisbane and stretching for several miles, the Brisbane International Airport is ideal for travellers looking to enter into the country or depart to a foreign destination. Passengers who fly into the Brisbane International Airport will find a pleasant introduction into the Queensland and most who travel here consider it a convenient travel method for visiting the sunny beaches and coastal lands of the Gold Coast area.
Brisbane Airport was originally constructed during the Second World War as a way to haul supplies between countries. By the 1970s the original airport was considered inadequate for the size of planes and amount of travellers entering into the country, which is why additional domestic terminals were created in 1988. By 1995, the international terminal had opened and since then, the airport has expanded greatly to accommodate the number of flights entering and departing the facility on a daily basis.
