London Heathrow Airport is commonly simply called Heathrow. With the official code LHR, it serves the London area. It is the busiest airport in the entire United Kingdom and the third busiest in the world, seeing more international passengers than any other airport in the world. This airport is part of the largest airport system in the world.
Heathrow is located only 12 miles west of Central London. This airport also offers flight instruction for pilots. The airport is made of a total of 5 different terminals. Terminal 2 has only been in operation since 2008.
History
Heathrow Airport has been in operation since 1929. Then, it was only an airfield, but development started in 1944. It was under construction for the entirety of World War II. By the 1950s, it had six runways. In the last half a century, the construction and growth of the airport has continued, and today, it is the one of the largest airports in the world.
In 2012, the airport even had a temporary terminal constructed to accommodate the large amount of international travellers that would be coming in only then for the 2012 Olympics in London.

You can book parking ahead of time at Heathrow when you book your flight. There are both long and short stay parking options available. In addition, there are special mobility parking services as well as business parking and valet parking available. Business and valet parking services come at an extra price.

When you want to get into the rest of the city, you can take a variety of methods. You can cycle into the city. Or, you can rent a car if you like. There is also a large amount of public transportation available. You can take the train, the bus, or even a taxi. There is also the London Underground available as well. Heathrow also offers a hotel rental program through the airport.
