Milan Linate International Airport is one of the three major airports that are part of a system in Milan connected by roads. It is only located a little over 4 miles from Milan. The actual name for the airport is Airport Enrico Forlanini, but it is more commonly known as Linate.
Each year, the airport sees about 10 million people on both domestic and international flights. . The main function of this airport is domestic flights and shorter ones as opposed to international flights, though, because of the airports close location to Milan. Most of the Linate Airport flights are to and from other locations in Italy and in Europe.
Linate Airport is a very good sized one. The passenger terminal of this very large airport covers 75,000 square meters. It has 74 check-in desks and 10 passport control desks. There are 24 departure gates in the airport. SEA manages the construction and operation of the airport completely, from the services offered to the building itself.
History
Linate Airport was established in the mid-1930s. It was originally created to replace Taliedo Airport because it was too small for commercial traffic needs that had been coming about. Shortly after Linate Airport started up, Taliedo closed down.
During the 1950s and the 1980s, Linate underwent some major renovations. These helped the large airport stay as modern as possible, and kept it safe enough with the increasing demand for more and more flights and more and more people.

Parking
Milan Linate Airport offers both short and long term parking. You can use the short stay parking areas directly outside of the airport, or you can park in one of the many larger parking areas. There are several of these: P1, P2, PRA, P3, Car Transfer Parking areas, and Disables Parking facilities. Valet parking is offered in some areas of parking buildings, and disabled parking offers a shuttle to the airport. The further parking buildings also offer shuttles for transportation to the airport.

When you arrive in Milan, you will immediately notice the climate. Milan has a mild Mediterranean climate. It is the most pleasant for visitors during April to October. Winters are cold, and summers are hot.
Milan is a very popular tourist spot, as it is viewed as the fashion capital of the world. There are many places to visit in the city, which you can visit by taxi, train or bus on the many highways that take passengers to Milan. The city is only 4 short miles from the airport, so travel into Milan will not take long at all. You can find a place to stay in the city and enjoy the sites on the same day you arrive if your flight is early enough.
