Milan Malpensa Airport is one of three large airports around Milan that are connected by Highways. It is the largest of the three, but it is also the furthest from Milan, at 29 miles from the city center. The official code of the airport is MXP.
The airport is made of two terminal buildings: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Terminal 1 holds up to 24 million people per year. It is a major international flight location in Italy -the second largest international traffic area in the nation.
Terminal 1 of the airport handles all of the commercial flights. It is divided into what are known as Satellites. There are two. Satellite A handles all of the national and European flights. Satellite B handles the rest of the international flights. The airport is currently building a third Satellite as well, which will have a third runway for it.
Terminal 2 is still in use. It is used for charter flights, cargo traffic, and other low-fare traffic. It sees nearly half a million tons of traffic per year, which is almost entirely cargo.
History
Terminal 1 of Milan Malpensa Airport was established in 1988. Terminal 2 was actually built before Terminal 1, but was named Terminal 2.

Terminal 1 of the airport has extensive parking facilities. Terminal 1 offers short stay parking, as well as a lot of other parking facilities: P1, P2 and a Car Transfer Service as well. Terminal 1 also offers Disabled Parking services as well, with a shuttle to the airport.
Terminal 2 has parking services as well. It offers both short stay and indoor/outdoor parking. There is also space for a car transfer service, as well as 56 spaces available in the Indoor/Outdoor parking area for disabled passengers.
All of the disabled parking spots are free of charge. All of the paid parking services in both terminals are very affordable, and there is a shuttle that runs every 15 minutes to take you to and from various locations on the grounds of the airport.
Surrounding Area
You can go directly into Milan from the Milan Malpensa Airport by a rail link established with the building of Terminal 1. The railway station is right at the airport and takes you right into the city's train station. If this is not for you, you can use the car hire service, taxis, or even a bus service to get to the city if you like.
The climate is a very mild one during the primary travel season. The summers in Milan are very hot, and the winters can be a bit chilly. You can visit much of the city's attractions once you get there, and there are many places in the city to stay. There is much to do in the fashion capital of the world.
