Newcastle Airport (NCL)

Located in the beautiful region of North East England, Newcastle Airport is a thriving airport complex that has flown approximately 2 million passengers on domestic and international flights for the year 2011. History

The Newcastle International Airport launched on July 26, 1935, with its first flight connecting Croydon and Perth in Scotland. New development began in the sixties, with the creation of the North East Regional Airport Committee. A decade later, expansion plans which had included the construction of a new pier and a departure lounge, were put into effect. The airport reached its 1-million annual passenger milestone in the year 1980. By 2000, passenger statistics had reached 3 million annually. Newcastle Airport celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2010.

Passengers may relax at Servisair Executive Lounge or at the more exclusive British Airways Lounge before their flights.
