Will Rogers World Airport also called Will Rogers Airport and assigned the IATA airport code OKC, is found in the southwest of Oklahoma City. It is the main commercial airport for Oklahoma City's Metropolitan Area. It was named after comedian and cowboy Will Rogers who is an Oklahoma native.
History
The airport was used as a training facility during World War II by the United States Army Air Forces. During that time it was called Will Rogers Field.
During the 1990s, the Oklahoma City Airport Trust saw the airport's terminal building as unsuitable and renovation plans were prepared for the airport. A larger terminal with modern facilities was established and the old concourse was demolished. New parking garages were constructed for the increasing number of airport passengers.

The airport has a center food court which features a variety of restaurants, fast food stores, bakeries, coffee shops and grills for passengers. There are also shopping centers located in the western, center and the eastern concourse of the airport. These shopping centers feature specialty stores, souvenir and gift shops, and fashion and sports apparel stores.
The airport also has a YMCA Military Welcome Center. It provides special services for travelling military members who are active or retired. The airport also has a Wi-Fi program for passengers waiting inside the public areas of the terminal, ticket gates, restaurants and shops.
