WestJet sponsors Charlottetown SummerFest Canada Day celebration

WestJet today announced its sponsorship of the Charlottetown SummerFest Canada Day celebration in Charlottetown, scheduled for July 1, 2010. 'WestJet is proud to be the official airline of Charlottetown SummerFest,' said Richard Bartrem, WestJet Vice-President of Communications and Community Relations. 'We can't think of a better way to celebrate Canada's 143rd birthday than in the birthplace of Confederation. Our WestJetters are excited to share Charlottetown's fun and family-friendly SummerFest with our guests.' At the heart of WestJet's partnership with Charlottetown SummerFest is the WestJet Fun 'n Festivals zone on the Charlottetown waterfront. WestJetters will welcome thousands of people and distribute flight discounts, hundreds of free souvenir photos and even some free flights. In addition, WestJet will be providing glowsticks to help festival goers celebrate during the Canada Day fireworks. The WestJet Fun 'n Festivals Series brings people and celebration together by sponsoring over 25 festivals around the country. This year, WestJet's Fun 'n Festival Series will be at the following events: Quebec City Carnival, Ottawa Winterlude, Okanagan Winter Wine Festival, Moncton HubCap Comedy Festival, Stars on Ice, Regina Mosaic Festival, Charlottetown SummerFest, Taste of Saskatchewan, Grande Prairie Extreme Country Fever, Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, Thunder Bay Blues Festival, London SunFest, Toronto Just for Laughs, Comox Nautical Days, Winnipeg Folklorama, Victoria Symphony Splash, Halifax International Buskers Festival, Royal St. John's Regatta, Abbotsford International Airshow, Vancouver Global Comedyfest, Niagara Wine Festival and the Kitchener Waterloo Oktoberfest.
