Airline unveils non-stop winter routes from Quebec City to two sun destinations
August 11, 2010
WestJet today announced the upcoming launch of two new seasonal non-stop services between Quebec City and the sun destinations of Cancun and Fort Lauderdale.
Starting December 11, 2010, WestJet guests from Quebec City and its surrounding area will be able to fly non-stop to Cancun every Saturday until April 30, 2011. Service to Fort Lauderdale will begin December 12, 2010, with one flight every Sunday until April 24, 2011. These new flights will mark the first time in recent history that a major Canadian scheduled carrier has operated non-stop service from Quebec City to southern destinations.
'We are thrilled to be able to offer the people of Quebec City and its surrounding area the chance to escape to two fantastic sun destinations this winter,' said Hugh Dunleavy, West Jet Executive Vice-President, Strategy and Planning. 'There is a strong demand in the Quebec City region for affordably priced travel to sun destinations. Given our comfortable Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft, equipped with live television, we believe our new non-stop flights to Florida and Mexico will be very well received by travellers searching for a great guest experience at a reasonable price.'
Book by August 25, 2010, to take advantage of special introductory one-way fares for travel by February 8, 2011. These are now available in each direction, on non-stop flights only, starting at $209 for Cancun and $179 for Fort Lauderdale plus applicable taxes and fees.
