Travellers who wish to explore the city of Venice have plenty of options. They can travel via taxi, car, bus or train. Travellers can choose to take land or water taxis and both can be found in the arrivals section of the airport.

Not too far from Venice Marco Polo Airport is the island of Murano. In Murano, travellers can take a real glimpse into history and the timeless art of glassblowing. The island was established in 1291 after the furnaces used for glass blowing and baking were moved off of the main island of Venice to preserve it in case of any fires. Most stores in Murano demonstrate the art of glass blowing and visitors can almost always see the life-sized Christmas tree made of blown glass.
